Box!

didnt intend to go out at night initially but that silly boy came to my house downstairs to spring me a surprise with an empty and starving stomach! instead of food, he had gotten a cold shoulder as i was totally occupied with work. still, he waited patiently for 75mins! alright. i gave in. went and met him supposedly for a kfc dinner. instead we went for movie as i causally said it. looking at him gobbling up the nachos in the cinema made me pretty guilty though. next time i shall complete my work before 6pm just in case. didnt manage to catch hello stranger as it was full house. we caught Box! superb movie! we were pretty lucky! after movie, he drove me home. and poor him, was all shagged out. silly boy:D

Based on a 2008 novel by Naoki Hyakuta, the film stars Hayato Ichihara as a teenager in Osaka named Yoshihei Kaburaya. Although he’s never been much of a student, he’s always had a natural talent for boxing. His childhood friend Kitaru (Kengo Kora) is a genius student well on his way toward moving on to a prestigious university.

Set in a high school boxing club in Osaka, Kabu (Hayato Ichihara) is a likeable delinquent who cuts up during classes, but works masterfully in the boxing ring. Then one day on the subway, Kabu takes out three thugs who are harassing a young couple. When Kabu gets off the train, he realizes that the man being harassed is his childhood friend Yuki (Kengo Kora), who moved away several years back. To Kabu's delight he learns that Yuki has now moved back to town and is now attending the same high school as Kabu. A few days later, Kabu insists to the timid Yuki to join the boxing club. However, he’s been a weakling and lacked physical confidence since he was a child. After much badgering upon Kabu's part, Yuki finally decides to take up the boxing gloves. Wanting to become strong like his friend Kaburaya, Kitaru joins him in their school’s boxing club. Although Yuki is completely new to the sport, he does train with earnest determination.

Meanwhile, a local boxing tournament takes place with Kabu easily going through his opponents. That is until the championship match when Kabu faces the highly feared boxer named Inamura (Suwa Masashi). To Kabu's surprise, Inamura knocks out Kabu. The loss devastates Kabu and he quits the boxing club. Yuki, on the other hand, stays in the club and trains as diligently as ever. When Kabu finally rejoins the boxing club, Yuki and Kabu both train for the next tournament to take out Inamura, but Inamura has a surprise for the two boxers ...
